CPD recognised for ‘green’ credentials and commitment to quality
CPD has been recognised for its commitment to high quality business processes and for reducing its impact on the environment.
Hull-based CPD plc, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of cleaning and hygiene products, has again been recognised for its commitment to high quality business processes and for reducing its impact on the environment.
Following a detailed audit of its systems, CPD has received renewed certification for the quality management system ISO9001: 2008 and the environmental management system ISO14001: 2004.
ISO9001: 2008 is a set of procedures covering all key processes in the business to ensure they are effective. The system facilitates continual improvement and requires regular reviews to demonstrate the company’s ongoing commitment.
ISO14001: 2004 is a standard for environmental management systems that is applicable to any business, regardless of size, location or income. The aim of the standard is to reduce the environmental footprint of a business and to decrease the pollution and waste a business produces.
CPD’s chief executive, Shaun Chatterton, said: "I am delighted that we have had our certification renewed. This is a real credit to the dedication of our staff, especially those who have been involved in our programme of continual improvement."
CPD recently moved to new, purpose-built headquarters at the Ipark – Hull’s newest industrial estate.
The company, which was established in 1988, is now the largest independent cleaning and hygiene supply company in the UK. CPD offers bespoke solutions to its clients, which include large catalogue order companies and independent businesses. CPD has its own fleet of delivery vehicles, which operate within a 60-mile radius of Hull.
CPD was responsible for developing the Maxima range of cleaning products and the Maxima Trading Group, which pools the buying power of several national companies in the cleaning and hygiene products industry. CPD operates with great care for the environment, and the Maxima group developed ‘Maxima Green’, an environmentally sustainable range of products.
